Vespa Kongo adalah hadiah untuk prajurit TNI yg ikut masuk jajaran Pasukan Pemelihara Perdamaian PBB,disebut Kontingen Garuda(Konga),ke wilayah Kongo.

(Konga),ke wilayah Kongo.

Konga 2 dibawah misi UNOC (United Nation Operations for Congo) berangkat ke Kongo dari thn 1960-1961.
Konga 3 berangkat ke Kongo thn 1962-1963.

Istimewanya pasukan tadi saat pulang ke Indonesia diberikan hadiah oleh Pemerintah berupa motor vespa yg juga jadi asal mula berkembangnya pasar motor vespa di Indonesia.

Vespa yg diberikan berbeda dari vespa biasa, berkode mesin VNB2,VGLA & VGLB adalah buatan Jerman bukan Italia.
Konon karena buatan Jerman,vespa ini punya plat bodi yg lebih bagus dan kuat dari vespa biasa.
Vespa ini sudah mengandalkan aki di sistem kelistrikannya yg jarang diaplikasi model vespa lain kala itu.
Pokoknya memang dibuat spesial untuk penghargaan pasukan Kontingen Garuda.

Salah satu ciri khas vespa ini,adanya lambang
Garuda di bodi dpn sebelah kiri,sayangnya saat ini logo tsb jarang ada di Vespa Kongo yg tersisa.
Perbedaan lainnya,di BPKB didlmnya tertulis eks Brigade Garuda.
Ini menjadi bukti fisik dari keaslian Vespa Kongo yg sulit untuk direkayasa.
Selain itu dibagian setang sebelah kiri disematkan tanda prajurit berbentuk oval dari bahan kuningan serta piagam penghargaan yg menyertainya.

Vespa yg diberikan ke prajurit ini identik dgn warna hijau metalik,kuning gading,krem dan biru muda,kebanyakan vespa produksi thn 1963 dgn kapasitas mesin ada yg 150 cc dan 125 cc.

Vespa ini untuk jumlah spesifik di Indonesia tidak ada yg tau pasti,yg jelas vespa ini skrg sangat langka dan menjadi buruan.
