Kami ingin menyampaikan berita gembira bahwa Indonesia akan segera memiliki pusat industri sel baterai kendaraan listrik terintegrasi pertama di dunia.

Sebelumnya saya telah menandatangani Nota Kesepahaman (Memorandum of Understanding/MoU) dengan LG Energy Solution di Seoul, Korea Selatan pada tanggal 18 Desember 2020.

MoU menjadi sinyal keseriusan yang sangat tinggi dari pihak LG dan Pemerintah Indonesia untuk mengembangkan industri baterai terintegrasi. Pada masa pandemi yang begitu penuh tantangan, keberhasilan ini merupakan kepercayaan luar biasa terhadap Indonesia. Nilai investasinya fantastis untuk satu korporasi, yaitu mencapai USD9,8 miliar atau setara Rp142 triliun.

Indonesia akan naik kelas dari produsen dan eksportir bahan mentah menjadi pemain penting pada rantai pasok dunia untuk industri baterai kendaraan listrik, dimana baterai memegang peranan kunci, bisa mencapai 40% dari total biaya untuk membuat sebuah kendaraan listrik.

Jadi, investasi ini akan menjadi model kolaborasi komplet yang melibatkan perusahaan asing dengan reputasi global, BUMN yang mumpuni, dan pelaku ekonomi swasta nasional/daerah yang kuat. Dengan demikian diharapkan dapat menggerakkan perekonomian nasional yang berdampak positif bagi daerah.
